Mid-Morning - Enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year, the T.J. Evans Recreational Trail provides opportunities for biking, walking, rollerblading, nature observation and more. Traversing over 36 miles of Licking County landscape provides visitors with a wide variety of scenery. Afternoon - Located on an ancient Native American flint quarry, Flint Ridge is a 125-acre park just north of Brownsville with a museum that honors the prehistoric people of Ohio who prized the colorful gemstone flint dating back 10,000 years. Today, the beautiful flint is very desirable for jewelry-making. Hours: Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day, Wed. - Sat. 9:30 am - 5:00 pm, Sunday/Holidays noon - 5:00 pm. Evening - The wonder of ancient monuments and American Indian cultures come together in Licking County at the Newark Earthworks. The National Historic Landmark is a place where visitors can explore 2,000-year-old geometric earthworks that served as both cathedral and astronomical observatory for the people known to archaeologist as the Hopewell culture. Open April - Labor Day. Admission is free.
